The HRS Business Travel Club (BTC) is based on the Commerce platforms of the well-known hotel portal businesses of and HOTEL.DE that transform into much more than “just” a platform: BTC provides its members, individual business travelers and SMEs, with a distinct range of exclusive services, which shape tomorrow´s safe, sustainable and upgraded travel experience. The primary purpose of BTC is to create loyalty between HRS and its customers. We envision a Prime like system for Business Travelers, where members get on “golden handcuffs” in exchange for superior benefits and services. Thus, the Club and its products, plays an important role in HRS´s DACH strategy as it revolves around a disruption of the interplay between hotel and workplace supply and e-commerce and a domination of the Business Travel DACH market.


We are looking for a "Product owner BTC m/f/d" that will lead national & international development teams to build new products as well as implementing third party software components into the HRS Software Landscape. These new products will help our customers to manage their work life smart, safe and in a fully sustainable way – from arranging convenient overnight stays to booking flexible workplaces and making payments on-the-go, the intelligent mobile companion comprises all essentials needed to make travel hassle-free, rewarding and above all CO2 neutral.   

The position is located as an important interface between the needs of customers, external partners and collaborates closely with product management, UX/UI and other Product Owners within HRS.


  • Work on analyzing, understanding, challenging and documenting requirements towards new Products within HRS Group together with Product Management, as well as management ensuring continued development of the services to serve HRS Group’s strategic vision
  • Translate customer and business requirements into technical solution-designs and ensure implementation and testing of the proposed solutions leveraging state-of-the-art cloud technologies
  • Develop new integration concepts of third-party software components and uncover potential for innovative travel program optimization approaches in line with HRS Group’s overall platform strategy 
  • Managing and prioritizing the product backlog as well as preparing and planning development goals in terms of agile product development 
  • Planning of product elements together with stakeholders and the development team 
  • Planning deployments with the team, determining timing and technical scope, and coordinating deployments of multiple (sub)products 
  • Ensuring transparency on the status of the product / project and dependencies 
  • Central, technical contact person for business and product development 


  • Several years proven product management experience, preferably in digital projects, ideally in the travel or payment sector 
  • A successfully completed university degree, preferably in the field of Business Informatics, or a comparable education 
  • Relevant experience leading technical national and international development teams 
  • High technical understanding (desirable in SQL, Rest APIs, AWS Cloud, Java and React
  • Strong experience in agile product development with e.g. Scrum or Kanban ( Jira, Confluence) 
  • Reporting and analysis of all relevant Input & Output Metrics as well as evaluations and testing of measures 
  • Creativity, user orientation and target group focus, pragmatism, great enthusiasm for product development with a backend focus 
  • Analytical and conceptual way of working as well as articulation and assertiveness skills 
  • Positive, solution-oriented mindset and entrepreneurial thinking  
  • English fluent - German language skills would be a bonus but not required

The attractive remuneration is in line with the market and, in addition to a fixed monthly salary, all necessary work equipment and mobility, will also include an annual or multi-year bonus.

We have offices in Cologne and in Berlin. The hybrid working style gives more flexibility, therefore we offer 3 days working at the office and rest of the week remotely.
