    HRS CEO Tobias Ragge is an acknowledged pioneer and leader in the modern travel industry. After assuming the role of CEO of family-owned HRS from his father Robert Ragge in 2008, Tobias gradually shifted the focus of HRS and led the expansion of the company. By 2012, HRS’ leading business unit was concentrated on global hotel procurement for Fortune 500 multi-national companies. Tobias Ragge has transformed the HRS Group into a global company operating in over 35 countries.

    Business Travel News (BTN), the predominant publication covering the global managed travel industry, has named Tobias Ragge to its prestigious annual list of the “25 Most Influential Corporate Travel Executives” 4 times. Our CEO was honored by BTN in 2014, 2016, 2018, and most recently in 2021 for the introduction of HRS's Green Stay Initiative (see Sustainability). Tobias Ragge is the only European to be named to this acclaimed list on four occasions.

We have asked our CEO Tobias Ragge a few question so you get an opportunity to get to know him a little bit before you decide to start your HRS journey with us. 

WHAT DOES HRS STAND FOR?

HRS follows the purpose of making business life simple. Our focus lies in the Travel Technology Business. 

Our motto is to reinvent how businesses work stay and pay. 

We have Leading Principles that are applied in everything we do. As we state in one of our Leading Principles: "For us there is never a perfect state, but only perpetual improvement. This includes more effective processes, better products, smarter commercial models, latest technologies and new ways of working".

We take a visionary perspective and we love to make things happen. It’s in our DNA to always strive for continuous improvement. "As Intrapreneurs we are big thinkers and big doers", as stated in our Leading Principles.  

WHICH PEOPLE FIT TO HRS?

We want to attract people who are ambitious and who want to create something. We are interested to learn about ‘what drives you?’ Many people seek meaning in what they do. Working 9-5 in the same things and routines every day is not fulfilling for everyone. At HRS you get the opportunity to live and shape change on a daily basis.

HRS is very formative, it is special to me because it is my own company of course, but also always has been a family business, initially founded by my father 50 years ago.

This growth mindset, plus the intrapreneurial spirit we foster among our employees, makes HRS an exciting and unique environment to work in. 

I believe in clear and direct feedback, because only open communication fosters personal and entrepreneurial growth. My vision of finding future solutions for the company and the industries combined with a strong will to implement those, brings with it a clear line and general guidelines that offer orientation and create trust among the HRS tribe.

STAY - HRS is targeting people who are traveling and have to stay somewhere. 

PAY - HRS is taking care of processes becoming rather invisible and also supporting with the handling of process and directs costs. For that HRS is offering a digital wallet solution on the go.

Hotel distribution was not a professional industry 50 years ago. Many people were coming to Cologne for the fair business. In this Tobias Ragge's father saw a business opportunity to establish a hotel distribution platform for the market and founded HRS in 1972.
