BUSINESS UNIT
Corporate customers and companies today demand transparency on sustainability and environmental impact of each hotel stay — from carbon emissions to certifications and waste management standards. With regulations like CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and EU Taxonomy requiring detailed emissions reporting, Travel CEOs are under pressure to deliver measurable sustainability outcomes while managing costs and operational complexity.
The market is becoming saturated with basic carbon calculators and generic reporting tools. However, what corporations, many of which have net zero commitments made, truly need are vetted and actionable insights that help them minimize environmental impact while optimizing for business value. This is where HRS stands apart — our Green Stay Initiative has proven to be level-playing field for independent hotels and small-and-medium size hotel chains ensuring most sustainable hotels also deliver cost savings, and other way around. In short, we strive towards positioning HRS as the only end-to-end procure-to-pay solution in the blue-ocean Lodging & Meetings space by expanding Green Stay into a full Sustainable Stay platform with ESG-aligned insights, carbon reporting, and gamified engagement driving corporates toward net-zero goals.
POSITION
As Product Manager - Sustainability, you'll own how HRS collects, structures, and exposes sustainability-related content from our global hotel network. Your mission is to evolve our Green Stay Initiative into the comprehensive Sustainable Stay Initiative — expanding beyond environmental metrics to include Social and Governance (ESG) and Emissions Compensation Program (ECP) as a core strategic edge for us. You'll build the data infrastructure that enables Fortune 500 companies to not just report on emissions, but to actively reduce them through intelligent procurement and book-stay decisions.
This role sits at the intersection of sustainability and corporate travel innovation — perfect for a product leader ready to tackle one of the most pressing challenges facing global businesses today.
CHALLENGE
- Own the evolution of Green Stay to Sustainable Stay Initiative, integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions to differentiate HRS in the market
- Design and scale data collection frameworks to automate ingestion of sustainability metrics from 100,000+ properties globally via APIs, AI-powered certificate validation, and partner integrations
- Enable corporate customers to achieve Net Zero targets by building infrastructure for carbon pricing, budgeting, SBTi forecasting, and integration with the Emissions Compensation Program
- Partner with engineering and leverage machine learning for data validation, predictive recommendations, and automated sustainability scoring
- Drive customer adoption through sustainability nudging in booking flows.
- Represent HRS externally with hotel partners, enterprise clients, and strategic partners to expand our sustainability offerings while also helping some key sustainability solution offering players to attract new customers building an ecosystem flywheel
FOR THIS EXCITING MISSION YOU ARE EQUIPPED WITH...
- 5+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, preferably in Travel or Hospitality Domain with some understanding of sustainability landscape (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, certification standards etc.).
- Strong technical foundation with API-first mindset, experience in large-scale data integration, SQL proficiency etc.
- Excellence in stakeholder management with ability to influence without authority across engineering, commercial, operations, and external partners while balancing diverse needs
- Data-driven decision maker who uses experiments, A/B tests, and metrics to validate hypotheses and identify breakthrough opportunities in commoditized markets
- Genuine passion for sustainability and environmental impact, with the drive to make corporate travel a force for positive change
