POSITION

As a Product Owner Data Platform& Revenue Management, you will own the entire Data Platform and Revenue Management System.

Revenue Management system (RMS) is a dynamic pricing model to predict the optimal prices for our customers. This is one of the products built over the data platform. It learns from historic development of vacation rental market and predicts prices optimum for current market trend. This is a core product deciding a big part of the revenues. On one hand, you own development and maintenance of the entire product by staying close to the development team. On the other hand, you stay close to the customer to understand their needs and pain points towards the product. You also need to stay close to the stakeholders to understand their vision and bring customer perspective in developing a business strategy for the product. To stay ahead of your game, you keep a keen eye on the market, analyzing different competitors and competitive products.

Data platform is a modern solution for data acquisition, storage, preparation, visualization, delivery, and governance. It constitutes of a completely automated pipeline built in-house over cloud architecture. This cloud-native pipeline helps us take data driven business decisions and factual alignments. On one hand, you will be the technical owner of the entire platform and assure an efficient translation of business needs from stakeholders to technical tasks for data engineers. On the other hand, you oversee the architecture and ensure quality in the delivery of the entire solution. You communicate with stakeholders and support concretizing their vision while also collaborating with other departments to get an understanding of new data sources.

CHALLENGE

  • Own the responsibility for the success of data products: Data platform and Revenue Management
  • Support an empowered data team and build the culture together
  • Be an inspiring role model in terms of collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders, and customers
    • Collaborate with stakeholders, develop business strategies and roadmap for data products
    • Collaborate with technical team members to translate business strategies to meaningful tasks
    • Stay close to customers. Have a customer centric product development approach
  • Oversee the continuous maintenance and prioritization of the product and sprint backlog
  • Create and maintain KPIs for products
  • Own the Integration the RMS into PMS and Multi-Source-Platform via UI or API
  • Analysis of the Revenue Management System market and important competitors
  • Work with Key Stakeholders on gathering business requirements; develop a technical plan with duration estimates and explicit periodization. Execute the plan, deliver the required deliverables inclusive roll out within the time estimate. Document the development for reference and knowledge transfer

FOR THIS EXCITING MISSION YOU ARE EQUIPPED WITH...

  • A successfully completed university degree in business administration, computer science or a comparable education
  • Extensive experience in building digital products
  • 5 years of experience in project management, product development and roll out
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data pipeline solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
  • Understand basic machine learning algorithms and DevOps
  • Understand REST and API development
  • Understand data pipelines and related technologies
  • Professional appearance, high motivation, and a strong desire to work and build an empowered team
  • High sense of responsibility and a conscientious, goal-oriented, and independent way of working
  • Fluent English and German skills in spoken and written form

LOCATION, MOBILITY, INCENTIVE

The position can be based in proximity to one of our offices in Cologne or Munich but also can be primarily home office based.

The attractive remuneration is in line with the market and, in addition to a fixed monthly salary, all necessary work equipment and mobility, will also include an annual bonus.
