Data & Analytics Platform
The HRS Data & Analytics Platform is one of the key enablers of HRS GROUP's tech- and data driven business travel solutions. State of the art services and solutions like strategic consulting & hotel procurement, travel payment and expense solutions or efficient tools to manage corporate meetings and group booking facilitate the travel processes and guarantee savings along the value chain.
Around 50 Data Specialists (Analysts, Scientists and Engineers) work together in our Data Community to create analytics solutions that serve our corporate customers, hotel partners, internal stakeholders, and ultimately millions of business travelers worldwide.
HRS Data & Analytics leverage a rich data landscape (spend data, booking data, rate data, web analytics data, etc.) turning raw data into actionable insights to provide (semi-) automated decision support to customers and business stakeholders with advanced analytical solutions. We bring state-of-the-art algorithms in production, to enhance Search & Booking experience (with personalized recommendations), or optimize the corporate hotel portfolio to the objectives of customers and the needs of the travelers.

POSITION
We are looking for a Product Owner - Data Platform (all genders) to join our Data & Analytics team and work from Mohali office. Also help us drive the evolution and implementation of our Data Platform, enabling all business areas to become autonomous and providing self-service tools for anyone's needs to generate value from data. As the Technical Product Owner for the Data Platform, you will work closely with Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists to bring platform solutions that will enable HRS to democratize and decentralize data and its related practices at scale.
CHALLENGE
- You own our "data lake", a state-of-the-art data platform acting as the single-source of truth company-wide
- You own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap of our data platform.
- You work in close coordination with various stakeholders across all the company, understanding their requirements and forming an understanding of potential solutions
- By combining a strong understanding of data engineering and of various aspects of the business value chain, you collaborate with both parties to drive the team with a clear purpose and in the right direction.
- You own the backlog for the data platform and give clear indications for prioritization
- You create user stories for the team, and you steer the backlog refinement sessions
- You keep up to date with what latest technology developments and you can also make suggestions to the team on what can be done to improve the technical offering
- You think about agile beyond the frameworks, how you can help create a truly agile environment and how to have engineering and analytics teams fully empowered and autonomous in their jobs.
- You have worked in technical organizations and can make a case for buy versus build when necessary.
- You can help maintain and publish our documentation, write meaningful changelogs, blogposts, and keep our roadmap up to date
FOR THIS EXCITING MISSION YOU ARE EQUIPPED WITH...
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related area
- A strong data engineering background with at least 3 years working as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer and/or Architect
- A deep interest in Product Management, ideally with at least 1 year experience working as a Technical Product Manager and/or Product Owner
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand stakeholder requirements clearly and translate this to the tech counterparts with ease
- A great team player, a techy at heart with a passion for data, business travel and working with different people from different departments
- Business/Native fluency in English
- Knowledge of SQL, Python
- Ideally, experience working with AWS Services and big data frameworks/tools such as Apache Spark, Presto, dbt, etc.
- A solid understanding of how to build a modern and scalable big data system

LOCATION, MOBILITY, INCENTIVE
The attractive remuneration is in line with the market and, in addition to a fixed monthly salary, all necessary work equipment and mobility, will also include an annual or multi-year bonus.
