Network Engineer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a Network Engineer (m/f/d) based in Cologne who knows how to manage, improve and support the local and global networks of the HRS Group. 

Your challenges

• Manage and improve our global and local networks, WANs and LANs
• Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks
• Install, configure and support network equipment incl. routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
• Procure network equipment and manage subcontractors involved with network installations
• Configure firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network security and efficiency
• Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
• Manage, arrange and schedule upgrades
• Investigate faults in the network
• Report network status to key stakeholders
• Consult the management in regards to management, operation and improvement of the client/server infrastructure
• Ensure round-the-clock support by participating in our on-call duty

Your commitment

• Several years of working experience as network engineer
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and hardware (Juniper, Cisco)
• You are familiar with DNS infrastructure
• Experience with CDN / WAF (AKAMAI) and web-applications security
• Deep knowledge with load balancing and reverse proxy (Alteon, AWS)
• Passion to proactively and constantly improve status-quo on all levels
• Good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work with all levels off staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
• Fluency English, spoken and written
