BUSINESS UNIT

The Search & Book unit at HRS plays a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions through HRS Connect, the company's flagship product within the expansive global corporate travel management market. HRS Connect specifically targets the rapidly growing and significantly underserved segments of corporate lodging, meetings, groups, and long stays. The unit develops, enhances, and maintains complex technology solutions that seamlessly integrate hotel distribution systems, Property Management Systems (PMS), Online Travel Agencies (OTA), and Hotel Chain systems into the HRS Connect platform. Leveraging robust connectivity, innovative technology, and data-driven insights, the unit ensures seamless connectivity, optimized travel spend, enhanced traveler experiences, and high-performance booking solutions for global enterprise customers.

POSITION

We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead - Super Agent who will serve as the founding engineering leader of Connect Super Agent: an AI-native meeting planning capability embedded into the Connect platform, helping non-professional corporate meeting planners organize complex meetings across venues, lodging, catering, supplier RFPs, contracting, and payments.

This is a builder role inside a net-new Product Trio (PM, ETL, Product Designer). You will design the agent architecture, hire the engineering team, and turn the Super Agent mandate into a production system - starting as a chat assistant inside Connect and evolving into an agentic platform that executes large parts of the meeting lifecycle.

CHALLENGE

  • Lead engineering in the Super Agent Product Trio alongside PM and Product Designer; turn an ambiguous AI mandate into a working architecture, MVP scope, and delivery plan.
  • Deliver the first Super Agent MVP to production inside Connect within the first quarter - a chat assistant that captures meeting intent, recommends locations, generates preliminary budgets, prepares RFP requests, and interacts with Connect APIs.
  • Design the agent system architecture so it can evolve from a single assistant into a multi-agent platform - orchestration, tool use, MCP/A2A-style integrations, guardrails, and predictable behavior under autonomous coordination.
  • Build secure, observable, cost-controlled services on AWS and Azure, defaulting to managed services and avoiding undifferentiated infrastructure work.
  • Establish AI-first engineering practices for the team: hourly integration, daily deployment, cycle time below 40 hours, defect escape ratio below 1%, and at least 80% of SDLC tasks performed with AI support.
  • Design for cost efficiency from day one - model selection, caching, prompt design, and workflow shaping so the system stays economically viable at enterprise scale.
  • Own end-to-end observability of an AI-driven system: decision traces, tool invocations, failure points, drift over time - so engineers can diagnose and recover from agent failures, incorrect outputs, supplier data inconsistencies, and infrastructure incidents.
  • Own the security posture of an agentic system handling sensitive enterprise data (travel policies, attendee data, supplier pricing, payment data): prompt injection defense, data access controls, and protection against manipulation of automated workflows.
  • Hire, coach, and grow the Super Agent engineering team into an independent senior unit ready to expand toward browser plugin and LLM-platform channels.

Technical Depth

  • Proven experience designing and shipping AI-agent systems: orchestration patterns, tool use, MCP/A2A-style integrations, guardrails, and techniques for keeping autonomous components predictable.
  • Strong cloud-native product engineering background on AWS and/or Azure, with a managed-services-first approach to services, data, and AI infrastructure.
  • Solid grounding in distributed systems: API design, data modeling, event-driven patterns, and the tradeoffs between latency, throughput, and cost.
  • Practical experience with LLM cost economics at scale: model selection, caching, prompt and context design, and architectural choices that keep unit economics defensible.
  • Experience building observability for AI systems: tracing agent decisions and tool calls, evaluation frameworks, drift monitoring, and runbook-driven incident response.
  • Working knowledge of agentic security: prompt injection defense, least-privilege tool access, data isolation, and trust boundaries between models, tools, and external data sources.

AI-Native Mindset

  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI tools and practices across the full SDLC - not as productivity add-ons, but as the default way of working.
  • Experience with Spec-Driven Development, AI-assisted code review, and evaluating the quality of AI-generated output for production use.
  • Capable of modeling and fostering an AI-native engineering culture - hourly integration, daily deployment, AI-supported SDLC tasks as the norm, not the exception.

People Leadership

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and grow engineers through structured 1:1s, career development frameworks, and performance management.
  • Experience hiring and building high-performing teams from zero; strong interviewing and calibration skills.
