Zooming in, the LaaS platform enables clients’ stakeholders to oversee and manage their global lodging spend through analytics functions, electronic RFPs and auctions as well as their travelers to quickly find the best supplier for their next lodging experience. The platform integrates seamlessly with various client systems and third-party providers such as online booking tools, risk management providers, payment gateways and travel management agencies, as well as hotel distribution systems such as global distribution systems, hotel chain reservation systems and channel management systems.

In order to support clients to understand the capabilities of the HRS platform and help internal product development and client delivery functions to navigate among client and market needs, the Platform Consulting chapter deals as an important proxy for technical knowledge and cross-product delivery management between those areas.

 

 

 

Role Profile

The Platform Consultant is the interface between prospects/ customers and the HRS TravelTech platform products as well as delivery teams – the Consultant has deep knowledge of the HRS, TravelTech ecosystem and competitor’s capabilities, understands the customers’ needs and based on that helps customers to understand HRS TravelTech platform products and adapt them to their needs (if necessary).

The Platform Consultant is always up to date with HRS product developments to guide internal Sales team, customers and prospects and vice versa is also responsible for collecting customer insights and requirements to the product suite as well as external systems involved (e.g., online booking tools, travel managing agent desktops, risk management service providers).

Once requirements are clarified, the consultant brings them forward to the internal product management and engineering teams for prioritization and ongoingly updates the client on the progression and delivery timeline.

 

 

You will be working on the following interesting challenges: 

  • Consult clients and partners on existing and upcoming product features, their configuration and their integration capabilities
  • Capture, refine and structure clients’ requirements for new products or needed adjustments/ extensions
  • Collaborate with sales teams to develop winning strategies
  • Support delivery functions in the product setup to fit the client’s needs
  • Refine and structure clients’ requirements for new products or needed adjustments/extensions
  • Facilitate and manage product increments based on client requirements - working alongside delivery & service projects
  • Support internal product and engineering functions with use cases, information flows and mockups in feature scoping as well as in the prioritization
  • Gather, maintain and share knowledge about clients’ internal structures with respect to markets, business units and systems as well as the implications to the setup of products and technical service
  • Consolidate and communicate product roadmaps as relevant to clients and internal teams
  • Support product development functions in the documentation of new product features with respect to clients’ use cases and integrations to their used systems
  • Support BI functions to enhance reporting services towards the customer’s needs
  • Train internal functions on the product use cases, their features as well as their configuration capabilities

 

For this exciting mission, you are equipped with following Skills & Capabilities

  • Understanding of travel-tech ecosystem
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and translate those into a solution design
  • Preferably previous work experience at Travel Management Company, ideally in the product team
  • Requirements engineering experience
  • Project management skills
  • Multi-faceted problem solving with the ability to investigate across products, systems and processes, as well as to build alternative approaches/solutions
  • Professional stakeholder management with customers and partners
  • Functional understanding of SaaS solutions with respect to web applications and APIs
  • Familiarity of Jira, Asana, and/or other project management tools preferred.
  • Preferably knowledge in Online Booking Tools (e.g., SAP Concur, Amadeus Cytric, KDS), Global Distribution Systems (e.g. Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport), Hotel Chain Reservation Systems (e.g. Marriott, Hilton, IHG), eRFP Systems (e.g. Lanyon, SabreRFP), Travel Agency Desktops (e.g. BCD, CWD, Amex GBT)
  • Preferably knowledge in database querying (SQL) and data schemas (HTML, XML, JSON).
