We are looking for a Warsaw-based Java Developer (m/f/d) who will join our team and help us maintain and develop hotel reservation customer-facing web application and a bunch of services around it.

 

Your challenge:

 

  • Work on suite of products forming HRS Sourcing system (negotiation of hotel rates, optimization of business travel for companies all over the world).
  • Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end.
  • Design, build, and maintain APIs, services and systems across HRS' engineering teams.
  • Build new features for internal and external users.
  • Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale.
  • Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and processes you will encounter.
  • Working in 4 -7  person teams (team consist of Backend developers, Frontend developers, DevOps Engineer, Tester, Scrum Master and Product Owner).
  • Willing to work with FE tasks is a plus.


Your commitment:

 

  • In-depth experience with Java 8 and basic Java 11. 
  • Hands-on experience with Spring (one app in 3.x, all other Spring Boot from 1.5 - 2.1).
  • Experience working with AWS (SQS, S3, EC2, ECR,  CloudWatch and more) is a plus.
  • All apps are dockerized and 95% of them are on K8S (hosted on AWS).
  • MariaDB, Redis, Flyway (for migrations) as Datasources/Caches.
  • Willingness to work in contract-first approach (we are using OpenAPI 3.0 standard).
  • Understanding of CI/CD approach (Jenkins pipelines, auto builds, auto verifiers, automatic creation of Docker images, zero downtime deployments).
  • Monitoring/Logs -> Grafana/Instana/Graylog maintained by DevOps in teams.
  • Code quality -> reviews done by the team and Sonar as quality gate.
  • Spock as main unit/integration testing framework, Gatling as a performance framework.
  • On frontend side we have the newest React (sometimes embedded in JSF).
  • Skills for upholding best practices in engineering, security, and design.
